Riviera The Promised Land is a console RPG first made in 2002 by Sting Entertainment. The game was introduced to Nintendo's Game Boy Advance in 2004, which Atlus launched in North America in 2005. An upgraded remake was made for the PlayStation Portable in November 2006, and was released in July 2007 in North America by Atlus USA. The game became a sleeper hit because of its twist to the RPG genre. The player plays the role of Ein, a Grim Angel, who must fight against demons as well as evil Grim Angels to put away the four fountainheads of evil known as the Accursed. The protagonist is accompanied by 4 heroines—Fia, Lina, Serene and Cierra—and his cat-like familiar Rose.
